  • Wesley Hartman, JD

    CO-FOUNDER and PARTNER

    Wesley Hartman (he/they) has built a legal career on serving gender expansive people and other vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on name and gender marker change. Before founding a law firm, Hartman worked to address the health-harming legal needs of the LGBTQ+ community through Kind Medical-Legal Partnership—a program they established, and then sustained, after securing a post-graduate public interest fellowship.

    Hartman earned their JD from the University of Texas School of Law. As a law student, Hartman served as a Pro Bono Scholar, helping to coordinate pro bono clinics serving people with disabilities, people with criminal history records, and more. Hartman also served as Communications Director of OUTLaw, UT Law’s student organization dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community.

  • Noah McLaughlin, JD

    CO-FOUNDER and PARTNER

    Noah McLaughlin (he/they) is a local Austin attorney with a focus on helping to establish safety and security for LGBTQ+ families. Before becoming a founding partner of Hartman & McLaughlin, PLLC, Noah worked as an Estate Planning attorney at Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York City.

    Noah earned his JD from the University of Texas School of Law in 2018. During law school, Noah was a student attorney for the Children’s Rights Clinic, which represents children in CPS cases in Travis County. Noah also served as President of OUTLaw, where Noah and Wesley met.
